With the 228CFX, you can play 3.5" floppy disks, specially formatted PianoCDs or even access Music Expansion, PianoDisc's extraordinary flash memory storage system. The 228CFX also features PianoDisc's revolutionary SilentDrive system, which allows your piano to play with full expression, even at whisper soft levels.

SilentDrive - SilentDrive allows more precise control of the key and pedal solenoids by the PianoDisc PDS-128Plus control unit, Precision control means greater fidelity and more life-like performance by the PianoDisct System.

The SilentDrive's four boards consist of one CPU (central processing unit) and three custom ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) chip-driven boards. The boards communicate using a type of serial information link that runs faster than MIDI. This electronic link allows for the almost instantaneous changes to the solenoid's speed when a new command is given. With SilentDrive, the PianoDisc system plays at much quieter levels, with whisper quiet movement of the solenoids and incredible dynamic expression.

PianoCD - provides the highest quality playback to bring you the sound and texture of your favorite music. This ultra-thin unit is designed to integrate with the PDS-128Plus, providing both CD and floppy disk capabilities. Each piano key has the capability of 127 levels of expression, giving every piece the rich dimension of expression of live music in the comfort of your home.
The PianoCD player system is an easy to use, entry-level system for those who wish to have a player piano. PianoCD also uses the patented SilentDrive technology that allows the piano to play quietly, even at whisper-soft levels, with full dynamic expression. With its ultra-thing control unit and integrated slim-line CD player, it plays our specially encoded CD's. Our CD Music Library contains songs in every category of music. The highly acclaimed and ever-expanding Artist Series includes recordings by today's top performers, and contains classical selections performed by some of the legendary pianists of this century, including Vladimir Horowitz, Arthur Rubinstein and Sergei Rachmaninoff. The PianoCD Jukebox Vocal series offers live performances of hit recordings by the original artists, including Roy Orbison, Jose Feliciano and Tony Bennett, plus Top 40 groups like Bill Haley and the Comets, Sam & Dave, The Drifters and many others. The PianoCD control can be linked with the PDS-128Plus system.

SymphonyPro - The SymphonyPro is a sound card compatible with the PDS-128Plus system. The card precisely reproduces original musical performances and allows these concerts to be played back on an acoustic piano. the sound card is also compatible with the GT-90 and GT-360 systems.

SymphonyPro has 16 megabytes and polyphony (64 voices). Each of the SymphonyPro's General MIDI sounds are sampled at 44.1 kHZ, the music industry standard for audio production. A generous 8 megabytes of sound memory are dedicated to the Stereo Grand Piano sample.

PianoDisc and PianoDigital owners can use the sound card with its dynamic reproduction of strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion as accompaniment background music for their piano performances.

Music Expansion - Loaded with over 25 hours of free music, Music Expansion offers favorite selections for every mood and occasion, conveniently stored in 10 musical Categories. Music Expansion enables you to enjoy hours of uninterrupted music without having to change a Disc or CD. Music Expansion's extensive music library includes full-expression performances from our widely-acclaimed ARTIST SERIES, featuring such well-known artists as Floyd Cramer, Peter Nero, Steve Allen, Dick Hyman and many more. Playback customization gives you the complete control of organizing your favorite songs in up to 12 libraries. Add new releases to your MX library; different formats can be mixed, matched and added to MX, including PianoDisc, Standard MIDI (type 0) and others. You can even record to MX via the TFT record option.

TFT Record Strip - The TFT sensor strip, which PianoDisc calls Touch Film Technology, consists of four pieces of piezo polymer film. Each piece is screen-printed with conductive carbon ink on both sides, resulting is a pattern of 22 sensor fingers. The piezo film sensors are mounted between an aluminum strip and four printed curcuit boards. When the pianist strikes a key, its movement slightly stretches the piezo film sensor over the curve in the aluminum strip. This action develops a voltage in the sensor, whose magnitude varies with the force of the key stroke. Warranty Information - The PianoDisc PDS-128Plus system is warranted against defects in material or workmanship for a period of sixty (60) months from the date of original purchase. For a period of three (3) months from the date of original purchase, labor costs are included in this warranty.

These systems are designed to work with virtually any acoustic piano, old or new, grand or vertical. PDS-128 Plus SilentDrive - a player piano system that retrofits into virtually any acoustic piano.
